Lincoln Rackhouse Breaks Ground on Silicon Heartland Data Center Campus Substation

DALLAS, TX – September 13, 2022Lincoln Rackhouse, the data center division of Lincoln Property Company (LPC), announced today that construction has begun for the substation that will serve the multi-use technology and distribution park designed for data center and industrial users and operators near Columbus, Ohio. The 200 MVA, N+1 onsite utility substation will offer up to four (4) primary and one (1) redundant 50 MVA transformers and 22% savings over the distribution rate. The expected delivery of the substation is July 2024.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Lincoln Property Company and Harrison Street acquired the 190-acre land site in New Albany, Ohio, known as “Silicon Heartland Innovation Park (the “Park”). The Park offers 2.2 million square feet of future development, with access to road systems, dual 138 KVA transmission lines, reliable electrical service, substantial water resources, and an abundant fiber network.

“New Albany, Ohio is a highly desirable data center location. It brings proximity to hyperscalers, carriers, and major transportation hubs, without the sacrifice of power present in other data center markets,” said Martin Peck, Executive Vice President, Lincoln Rackhouse. “Breaking ground on the substation is an exciting first step to bringing electrical infrastructure to the campus that will ultimately support 144MW of critical load.”

American Electric Power (AEP) Ohio recently announced power upgrades, known as the Parsons Avenue Transmission Project, to the electrical grid in order to accommodate the influx of development in the area.

Lincoln Rackhouse has also launched its new website dedicated to providing updates as phases of construction are completed for the New Albany, Ohio data center campus. For more information, please visit www.newalbanydc.com.
